An Exploration of Using Custom GPT Tool to Teach Phrasal Verbs

This research presentation reports on a study using Custom ChatGPT to scaffold English learners’ conceptual understanding of phrasal verbs. Informed by sociocultural theory and cognitive linguistics, the GPT design guided learners through stepwise tasks. Findings highlight gains in conceptual awareness alongside challenges such as glitches and cognitive load.
