The PD Exchange

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about finding, registering for, and listing professional development events.

For Teachers

Do I need to create an account?
No. The PD Exchange is a browse-only directory — no account, login, or signup required. Just find an event you like and register directly with the provider.
Is it free to use?
Yes, browsing the directory is completely free. Some events listed are also free to attend; others have a cost set by the provider. Look for the "Free" badge on event cards.
How do I register for an event?
Open any event page and click Register Here. You will either complete registration in-page (for supported providers) or be taken directly to the provider’s own registration page. We don’t handle payments or enrolments ourselves.
I need my principal's approval first. Can you help?
Yes — that’s one of the core features. On any event page, click Request Approval to generate a ready-to-send email to your principal or head of faculty with all the event details pre-filled. You can customise it, copy it, or send it directly from your own email client.
What if my school admin handles all the bookings?
Use the Send to Admin tab on the registration page. It generates a delegation email to your school administrator with the event details, a link to register, and optional fields for a PO number or budget code.
How often is the directory updated?
New events are pulled from provider websites automatically every day. If you're looking for something specific and can't find it, check back soon or browse directly on the provider's site.
Can I see events that have already passed?
Past events are hidden from the main directory to keep the listings relevant. If you want a recording of an online event that has already run, open the event page and use the Request Recording button.
What kinds of events are listed?
We focus on literacy, phonics, writing, assessment, and evidence-based teaching practice — webinars, workshops, short courses, and conferences from trusted providers in the US and internationally. We don't list every PD event, just those that meet our editorial focus.

For Providers

How do events get added to the directory?
We run automated scrapers that check provider websites daily and add new events to the directory. We also accept manual submissions from providers who want to ensure their events are listed accurately.
How do I get my events listed?
Visit the For Providers page and submit your details. We’ll review your events and get back to you.
Is there a cost to list events?
No. Listing events on The PD Exchange is free for providers.
Can I update or remove an event?
Yes. Contact us via the For Providers page and we’ll update or remove the listing promptly.
