Science Week on a shoestring: Engaging science for all

This session aims to equip science leads/school leaders with practical strategies, activity ideas, and funding suggestions to plan and deliver a memorable and impactful Science Week, even with a limited budget. British Science Week is a fantastic opportunity to ignite pupils' passion for science and raise the profile of STEM within the school community. However, budget constraints can often be a barrier for schools, limiting the scope and ambition of their plans. This session will provide leaders with the tools and inspiration to overcome these challenges and deliver a high-quality Science Week experience for all pupils. By the end of this session, participants will be able to: > Identify key strategies for planning and delivering a successful Science Week on a limited budget. > Explore a range of low-cost, high-impact practical activities suitable for primary & secondary -aged pupils. > Discover creative approaches to sourcing funding and resources for Science Week. > Adapt ready-to-run Science Week plans to suit their school's specific context and needs. > Feel confident in their ability to lead and inspire their staff to deliver engaging science experiences. Presenters will provide sample Science Week plans that can be adapted and implemented in schools. Participants will work in small groups to review and adapt these plans, considering their school's specific needs, resources, and priorities. Groups will share their adapted plans and discuss how to ensure maximum impact and engagement. Target Audience: School leaders (Headteachers, Deputy Headteachers, Science Coordinators)
