A School Leader's Guide to Navigating Uncomfortable Conversations
Managing uncomfortable is an important part of being a leader, but is often a task that is neglected or overlooked. This workshop will explain why these conversations are uncomfortable and how you can manage them in a caring and compassionate way, while at the same time addressing the issue.Participants will be able to: 1. Articulate why norms are important to help facilitate group discussion and be able to create a set of norms when working with various stakeholder groups. 2. Identify the causes of uncomfortable conversations 3. Implement suggestions and strategies to manage uncomfortable conversations with parents, staff, administrators and the community members. 4. Provide effective feedback to staff and designed to create positive classroom change and enhance teacher performance.
