Bridging the Gap: Improving IEP Implementation with the IEP Cycle Measurement Tool

The presentation focuses on how practitioners used data from an IEP implementation fidelity tool to determine whether students with disabilities were making meaningful progress. During this presentation we will discuss how this tool supported the practitioners to determine whether the IEP needed to be revised to meet student needs. Participants will be able to: 1. Explain why implementing IEPs with fidelity is essential to ensuring a student’s right to FAPE and describe the potential consequences of inadequate implementation. 2. Identify 3–5 practical resources they can use immediately to address IEP implementation challenges in their schools or districts. 3. Describe how to use fidelity data to monitor implementation and inform continuous improvement efforts.
