Classwide Intervention to Increase Social Engagement with Socially Isolated Preschool Students

The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of a peer-mediated intervention delivered class-wide to preschool students. Students were taught “strategies to be a good friend” and reminded to look for classmates who were playing alone. This presentation reviews the findings from this study and steps for implementation.Participants will be able to: 1. Understand the current literature on Stay-Play-Talk. 2. Understand the strengths and limitations to class-wide implementation. 3. Implement strategies class-wide to facilitate social interactions between students.
