Creating Connection: Multi-Modal Pathways for Inclusive Learning

This session explores arts-based, flipped, and UDL-informed instruction to support K–12 and college students with disabilities. Through performing arts and multimodal learning, students build literacy, self-expression, and executive functioning. Inclusive strategies across disciplines demonstrate how Universal Design for Learning bridges ability and access in K–12 and higher education.Participants will be able to: 1. Gain an understanding of key components of the multi-modal model and its alignment with UDL Arts-integrated strategies for supporting students with disabilities. 2. Learn flipped and performance-based learning examples. 3. Discover outcomes and reflections from both K–12 and college students Practical applications for educators in all grade levels and subjects Tools to implement inclusive strategies in their own settings. 4. Learn alternative methods of assessment through UDL and arts integration. 5. Access adaptable tools and resources Generate ideas for flipped classroom design Create a menu of UDL-informed, multi-modal assignments.
