Creating Trauma Informed Environments for Students on the Spectrum

Trauma-informed classrooms are essential for creating supportive, safe, and inclusive learning environments for students, especially when working with students on the spectrum. We explore the principles of trauma-informed practices, the impact of trauma on brain development, behavior, and strategies to recognize trauma, foster safety, and build trusting relationships with students.Participants will be able to: 1. Describe the impact of developmental trauma on childhood development. 2. List the important aspects of a trauma informed classroom environment. 3. Implement classroom practices to positively impact students with trauma.
