Culturally Responsive-Sustaining Transition: Supporting Students and Families Praxis

Do family and youth friendly transition planning in IEP meetings matter to you? This presentation focuses on practitioners implementing culturally responsive-sustaining practices during transition planning, IEP meetings, and beyond. We guide you in contextualizing resources and approaches to facilitate active engagement, build partnerships, and promote inclusive IEP meetings.Participants will be able to: 1. Identify culturally responsive-sustaining transition practices to support youth and their family members. 2. Create a plan for implementation of culturally responsive-sustaining transition practices based on their context. 3. Explore personal beliefs and biases related to implementation of culturally responsive-sustaining and inclusive practices.
