Designing with Dragons: Co-Teaching Reimagined
In this presentation, attendees learn how co-teaching serves as a cornerstone for students’ learning and growth. These current co-teaching partners explain how they built a successful relationship, and redefined co-teaching for various learning environments. Participants learn to implement the six models of co-teaching and strategies for differentiation and engagement. Participants will be able to: 1. Demonstrate an understanding of the importance of co-teaching to students’ learning success. 2. Identify the DRAGON mnemonic as a framework for creating an effective co-teaching team. The mnemonic stands for Differences, Relationship, Accelerate achievement, Game and engage, Organize and plan and Notice and reflect. 3. Identify examples from each of the key areas of the co-teaching relationship represented by DRAGON and brainstorm with other participants solutions to particular challenges that may arise within each of these six areas.
