DVIDB Showcase: The Impact of Dual Math Braille Codes: UEB and Nemeth in the United States

This session presents findings from a 2024 survey of 176 special educators, highlighting successes and ongoing challenges related to the use of math braille codes in the United States. Attendees will receive practical strategies and resources to support instruction using the Nemeth Code and Unified English Braille Math. Participants will be able to: 1. Describe the factors and barriers TSVIs consider when choosing a math braille code. 2. Identify at least three strategies and resources that can be used to teach Nemeth Code to students who read braille. 3. Identify at least three strategies and resources that can be used to teach UEB Math/Science to students who read braille.
