Effective Principal Leadership: Assessing, Reflecting, and Strengthening IDEA Implementation

This session introduces the IDEA Leadership Essentials Self-Check, a reflective tool grounded in research-based competencies related to IDEA implementation. The Lead IDEA Center staff share how to assess and strengthen IDEA leadership practices, provide real-world applications, and explore strategies to guide individualized development and improve systems for students with disabilities.Participants will be able to: 1. Identify the core knowledge, skills, and mindsets principals need to effectively implement IDEA in schools. 2. Assess areas for growth and support using the IDEA Leadership Self-Check. 3. Access resources and professional learning to support effective leadership for students with disabilities.
