Expanding Pathways for Communication: Inclusive Strategies to Support All Learners
This session highlights strategies to strengthen communication across diverse learners. Presenters share approaches including picture books to build vocabulary, Self-Regulated Strategy Development to support middle school language development, and learning space design to promote interaction. These perspectives emphasize inclusive practices that connect curriculum and environment, fostering academic and social success. Participants will be able to: 1. Implement evidence-based strategies, such as picture books and SRSD, to enhance vocabulary, language, and communication skills in students with disabilities, multilingual learners, and struggling writers. 2. Analyze how classroom design and environmental features influence communication and apply principles for creating learning spaces that foster positive interactions.
