From Good to Great: Strengthening Writing Instruction with Research-Based Strategies

In this presentation, we identify evidence-based instructional practices that define effective writing instruction. We share insights from research funded by the Institute of Education Sciences' (IES) National Center for Special Education Research (NCSER) on professional development and classroom observations. Our goal is to bridge the gap between what research says works and how it actually looks in practice. We also discuss how to evaluate student writing to inform and adjust your instruction for maximum impact.
