From Opportunity to Action: Using AI to Track and Monitor Teachers' Delivery of OTRs

Opportunities to respond (OTR) is an evidence-based practice used to increase students’ engagement which can have significant implications on overall outcomes. However, data indicate natural delivery of OTRs falls well below recommended rates. This session examines an open-source AI system to automatically capture delivery rates, completeness, and types of OTRs.Participants will be able to: 1. Articulate the importance of OTR as an evidence-based practice and its role in promoting active student participation and engagement. 2. Examine how an AI-assisted system can be leveraged to collect and analyze data on teachers' delivery of OTR, including examples of how these tools function in classroom settings. 3. Use sample data outputs to discuss how access to real-time, objective feedback can inform teachers’ instructional decisions and enhance the delivery of OTR.
