Infusing Physical Activity into the School Day: Research-Based Strategies for the K-12 Classroom
Current research highlights the positive impact of physical activity and movement on academic growth and development. This is especially important for students with disabilities or at risk for disabilities, such as autism or intellectual disability. This presentation will highlight evidence-based physical activity strategies educators can infuse throughout the school day.Participants will be able to: 1. Explain the importance of increasing opportunities for physical activity for students with disabilities. 2. Identify a variety of games and activities that can be incorporated into physical activity programming. 3. Describe key considerations for developing and implementing physical activity programs tailored to students with disabilities.
