Innovations in Supporting Children with Autism & Literacy-Related Disabilities
This session highlights innovative approaches to supporting families of children with autism and related learning needs. Presenters will share research and practice examining barriers and opportunities in accessing early childhood education for Hispanic families, the development of an AI Coach for parents, and evidence-based literacy practices that empower families. Participants will be able to: 1. Identify systemic barriers and opportunities affecting families of children with autism in accessing early education. 2. Describe how AI-based tools can support parent-implemented interventions for children with autism. 3. Apply evidence-based literacy practices to engage and empower families in the early grades. 4. Discuss strategies to integrate family voice into equitable, evidence-based educational support.
