Moving Beyond Land Acknowledgments: Collaborative Frameworks for Inclusive, Culturally Responsive Global Professional Development

This session highlights collaborative efforts to co-develop culturally responsive professional development for educators in under-resourced schools in Africa. Presenters will share lessons learned and guide participants through interactive activities to generate context-specific strategies that move beyond symbolic inclusion toward sustained engagement in global and local educational contexts. Participants will be able to: 1. Analyze how symbolic gestures such as land acknowledgments can be transformed into sustained action through collaborative practices. 2. Identify key components of a culturally responsive and inclusive professional development model. 3. Develop a draft action plan for fostering equitable, community-engaged professional learning in their own settings.
