Promoting Positive Behavior in Middle School Students at Risk for EBD Using Class-Wide FIT
This session highlights the implementation and outcomes of Class-Wide FIT (CW-FIT), a Tier 1 positive behavior management strategy. Emphasis is placed on its effectiveness for middle school students at risk for Emotional and Behavioral Disorders (EBD). Attendees will review outcome data, explore implementation steps, and view classroom video examples. Participants will be able to: 1. Describe the key components and structure of the Class-Wide FIT (CW-FIT) intervention (i.e., social skill instruction, group contingency, reinforcement system, and praise delivery). 2. Understand research findings demonstrating the effectiveness of CW-FIT for middle school students at risk for EBD. 3. Access free resources and support for implementing CW-FIT in their classrooms.
