Friday 13 March 2026·1:00 pm

This presentation highlights the results of a two-year professional development (PD) partnership, with a public middle school in the southwest, focused on inclusive education and co-teaching. Presenters will share: a) strategies for working with internationally diverse co-teaching teams; and b) student achievement data pre- and post-intervention (professional development).Participants will be able to: 1. Recognize how international teachers on J-1 visas are filling important co-teaching roles in middle school inclusive classrooms. 2. Describe how researchers made co-teaching PD culturally relevant to the southwestern U.S. context. 3. Synthesize two years of inclusive education and co-teaching professional development activities (intervention). 4. Compare the pre- and post-intervention data on Arizona’s Academic Standards Assessment (AASA) in English Language Arts (ELA) and Mathematics.
