Small Steps, Big Future: The Power of Early Transition Planning

This session will discuss how we approach postsecondary transition planning, positing that "all services are transition services" across the PreK-12 educational continuum. Not a singular event, successful transition to adulthood is a cumulative process, beginning with the critical move from early intervention (EI) to preschool and continuing through graduation.Participants will be able to: 1. Recognize how foundational skills develop from early intervention through high school and contribute to a student's postsecondary readiness. 2. Gain strategies to empower students to increasingly take ownership of their transition journey and support parents in adapting their advocacy roles as students mature.
