Supporting Students with Intellectual Disabilities Through Explicit Instruction - HLP 16

Explicit Instruction is a high leverage practice that can be used to support students with Intellectual Disabilities and Autism in building academic, communication, adaptive, behavioral, and daily living skills. This session will explore 16 components of Explicit Instruction, including modifications and supports needed to increase access and engagement for students. Participants will be able to: 1. Describe the learning needs of students with Intellectual Disabilities and Autism. 2. Apply and modify the 16 components of Explicit Instruction to support students with Intellectual Disabilities. 3. Support students in academic, communication, adaptive, behavioral and daily living skills
