The Road to Inclusion: A District Journey in Innovating Special Education Itinerant Services

The session will highlight a district-wide initiative to implement the SEIT model to improve early outcomes. Participants will learn about strategies for supporting teachers and effectively implementing the Special Education Itinerant model, as well as plans for ensuring the sustainability of these efforts. All strategies are grounded in the Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) and equity-based frameworks, making them immediately relevant and scalable in diverse educational settings. Participants will be able to: 1. Form school-based SEIT implementation teams. 2. Revise schedules for push-in support and co-planning time. 3. Utilize reflective practices in Professional Learning Communities (PLCs) to address mindset challenges. 4. Integrate behavior support tools into classroom routines. 5. Learn how to prioritize teacher well-being by creating opportunities to attend conferences that promote learning, reduce feelings of isolation, and rejuvenate professional purpose.
