Use of Generative AI to Improve Geometric Reasoning for High School Students with Learning Disabilities

This session presents a geometry intervention integrating generative AI into the self-regulated strategy development framework for high school students with learning disabilities in mathematics. Using a single-case multiple probe design, the study demonstrates positive effects of the intervention on students’ written expression and mathematical problem solving.Participants will be able to: 1. Explain how to utilize generative AI tools to support mathematics learning for high school students with learning disabilities. 2, Implement practical GEOMETRY strategies for integrating the SRSD framework with AI tools. 3. Develop and apply effective AI prompts to guide students’ written expression in mathematical reasoning.
