Use of Project ECHO® to Foster Interdisciplinary Collaboration and Neurodiversity Affirming Practices for Autistic Students

This session highlights how Project ECHO®, an evidence-based tele-mentoring model was used to promote interprofessional collaboration and use of neurodiversity affirming practices to support autistic students in the school setting. Presenters will share outcomes, implementation strategies, and lessons learned for preparing professionals to support autistic students through interdisciplinary teaming.Participants will be able to: 1. Design ECHO sessions that promote interprofessional collaboration and use case-based discussions to generate shared solutions across disciplines. 2. Discuss the importance of interprofessional collaboration and integration of neurodiversity affirming practices in effective instruction for autistic students. 3. Gain strategies to immediately enhance communities of practice within their own schools, districts, or university programs.
