Using AI in Writing Feedback: Improving Student Writing Outcomes with Automatic Scoring

This session examines how AI feedback supports students with learning disabilities by providing real-time, personalized feedback that informs data-driven decision-making and targeted interventions. Participants will get access to a curated, teacher-created, and free resource bank that helps educators connect student needs with evidence-based tools and strategies to improve writing outcomes. Participants will be able to: 1. List at least three components essential to quality writing feedback. 2. Describe at least two ways AI can support teachers in providing writing feedback. 3. Locate technology tools and strategies to improve the writing outcomes of struggling writers.
