What Educators and Leaders Need to Know about Leveraging MTSS for SDI

How should students with individual education programs (IEPs) participate in the multi-tiered system of supports (MTSS)? Can Tiers 2 and 3 interventions or best teaching practices used in general education be considered SDI? Should we include MTSS interventions within the IEP? Experts from the PROGRESS Center, a federally funded center, define SDI and address common misconceptions about the design and delivery of SDI within MTSS. They draw on current evidence, lessons learned from highly successful schools, and federal legislation, policy letters, and guidance.
