AI as a Teaching Assistant: From Exploration to Integration

This interactive, hands-on intermediate session moves beyond exploration to intentional integration of AI as a teaching partner. AI-TAs (Artificial Intelligence Teaching Assistants) are intentional uses of generative AI tools to support instructional design, teaching tasks, and learner engagement. Building on AI as a Teaching Assistant: Getting Started, participants will use Madanchian and Taherdoost’s (2025) evaluative framework to design and assess AI-assisted teaching materials with Blackboard Learn Ultra’s AI Design Assistant and Adobe Creative Cloud. Through active experimentation and peer collaboration, participants will co-create course materials and tools. Participants will leave with practical, ethical strategies for confident AI integration.
