SPOTLIGHT SPEAKER: The Risk of Trying (Grades K-12)
Part of 2026 Engage Learning Conference
Tuesday 9 June 2026·6:00 pm
What if students who don't try aren't unmotivated, they're just calculating risk? Every time a student raises their hand or turns in work they care about, they're taking a risk. For many, that risk doesn't feel worth it. This session flips how we think about "apathy" and shows what's rally going on beneath the surface. Through real stories and practical strategies, educators will learn how to make effort feel safe, valued, and worth it.
