Read, Write, Code: Enriching Libraries with Computer Science and AI

Monday 12 January 2026·10:30 am

School libraries are evolving into dynamic spaces for exploration, creativity, and innovation. In this interactive session, participants will discover how computer science (CS) and artificial intelligence (AI) learning align with the American Association of School Librarians (AASL) Standards Framework for Learners. Designed specifically for library media specialists, this workshop introduces strategies and ready-to-use activities that connect literacy, inquiry, and computational thinking. Attendees will experience a model lesson from Code.org’s CS Connections curriculum—“Learn to Code a Book Cover”—and leave with practical ideas for integrating CS and AI into library programs, regardless of schedule or setting.
