AI in the Classroom: Visibility, Safety, and Real-World Student Use
AI is already in your classroom, whether you planned for it or not. Students are using AI to study, brainstorm, write, problem-solve, and sometimes to take shortcuts. The challenge many teachers are facing is not _whether_ students should use AI, but how to guide safe, transparent, and responsible use while still protecting learning and academic integrity. This session focuses on what AI transparency looks like in real classrooms this school year: * How teachers and schools are balancing innovation with academic integrity * Why visibility and guidance often work better than strict blocking * What kinds of AI activity schools can actually see today and how that supports teachers We’ll share real examples of how districts are approaching student AI use and what tools and practices are helping teachers feel more confident navigating this shift.
