Smarter Meeting Scheduling: Building a Self-Service Scheduling System for K-12 Environments (REPEAT)
Scheduling training, support sessions, and meetings shouldn’t require endless emails or calendar negotiations. In this session, Christopher Fletcher, Information Systems Manager for the Kansas State Department of Education (KSDE), will share how the Kansas Education Data System (KEDS) team implemented a self-service scheduling system to streamline virtual training and support. Attendees will learn practical methods for using Google Calendar or Microsoft Bookings to create an efficient, user-friendly scheduling experience. Christopher will walk through real-world examples of how these tools were used to deploy a scalable training and support system, reduce administrative overhead, and improve responsiveness for educators and staff. Participants will leave with actionable ideas they can apply immediately in their own districts or organizations to simplify scheduling, improve communication, and better support their users—potentially without adding new software or cost.
