TIPPS for Supporting Students Who Have Experienced Trauma

Trauma-Informed Programs & Practices for Schools (TIPPS) is intended to broadly frame a trauma-informed approach for schools (systems level) rather than outline/prescribe a particular program or set of practices. Strategies and resources will be offered as examples and focused on deepening connections to the 10 TIPPS "core pillars". Each pillar provides a framework which is broad enough for schools to customize based on their specific setting. During this session you will deepen your understanding of adversity, trauma, and resilience while exploring each of the 10 core pillars. Learning Outcomes: Deepen your understanding of adversity, trauma, and resilience Explore a trauma-informed approach for schools at the systems level Apply each of the 10 core pillars to your own setting Familiarize yourself with tools and resources available from TIPPS Interactive Learning Opportunities: -Individual reflection, pair share, engaging strategies (e.g., Maitre'D), intentional close
