Discover and Connect! Activities to Blend Music and Language Learning in your Music Classroom

This session will provide attendees with toolbox activities for supporting language learners in the music classroom while engaging all students in meaningful musical learning and play! We will unearth some important connections between ESL and music learning goals, as well as successful teaching strategies that work in both disciplines. Students can explore the important connections between a culture’s language and music, adding to their contextual understandings as described in the National music standards.
