Health Beyond Health Class

Health education doesn’t stop at the classroom door—and neither should your curriculum. This session introduces “Health Beyond Health Class,” a new section of the K–5 HealthSmart program designed to extend health learning into the broader school environment. Grounded in the Whole School, Whole Community, Whole Child (WSCC) model and Coordinated School Health (CSH) principles, this approach empowers educators to integrate health education across multiple domains of school life—from physical education and nutrition services to counseling, school climate, and family engagement. Participants will explore practical strategies and tools that support a school-wide culture of wellness, including interactive digital lessons, visual reinforcement materials, and cross-curricular activities.
