Braiding Knowledge, Belonging, and Reconciliation

Join Elder Phillip Campiou and educator Glenda Viney for an inspiring session on braiding Indigenous knowledge, perspectives, and practices into everyday classroom life. Together, they will explore how the concepts of wholeness and belonging can shape inclusive, meaningful learning environments where all students feel seen and valued. Participants will gain practical strategies to embed Indigenous teachings into daily routines, classroom culture, and curriculum. Drawing on Elder Campiou's lived experiences and wisdom, as well as Glenda's decades of educational practice, this session will offer tools to support reconciliation, strengthen student identity, and foster authentic connections in your learning space. Session Objectives: 1. Explore how Indigenous concepts of wholeness and belonging can inform inclusive classroom environments where all students feel respected and valued. 2. Learn practical strategies to integrate Indigenous knowledge, perspectives, and practices into daily routines, classroom culture, and curriculum. 3. Develop tools to support reconciliation and strengthen student identity, fostering authentic relationships and culturally responsive teaching practices.
