Supporting Key Financial, Economic, and Entrepreneurial Competencies For Educating Alberta Youth With FREE Financial Literacy Resources.

At the heart of Building Futures in partnership with Alberta Education is a vision of improving the financial literacy of Alberta's children and youth. If you are concerned about the financial future for our Alberta youth, then this session is for you! Schools are now starting to include financial education in the curriculum. Equipped with knowledge, skills and experience, young people will be able to plan for and take control over their money and financial affairs. How can we make sure they understand how money works? How can we help them prepare to make smart money decisions throughout their lives? Building Futures in Alberta focuses on the money topics most important for students in grades K-12. Teachers can access FREE Supports for Learning that are mapped to the General and specific Outcomes in 7-12 and mapped to the Learning Outcomes in Physical Education K-6. K-6 Lesson Plans are available on the Building Futures in Alberta Website. Grades 4-9 Money Fair's are an exciting challenge for your students, Money and Youth Guide is a Free resource for students Grade 9-12 in Alberta as well as a new online course FiNLIT 101 can be teacher of student led and students can get three credits at the 30 Level.
