Literacy Leaders: Building a Collaborative Culture of Reading
This 60-minute interactive workshop is designed to facilitate a critical cultural shift from isolated practice to powerful, embedded collaboration, focusing on strategies that dramatically improve student reading outcomes by igniting curiosity and critical thinking. The session begins with a shared "Reading Story" to set the vision, followed by role-specific Breakout Rooms (e.g., Coach's Clinic, Teacher Team-Up, Data-Driven Teams) where participants immediately apply high-leverage Thinking Strategies like "What? So What? Now What?" and "Chalk Talk." These activities ensure every educator, coach, and administrator can build practical systems for equitable literacy instruction and foster a school-wide culture of shared responsibility. Participants will leave with a concrete action plan for strengthening internal partnerships and modeling the kind of student-centered learning that ensures every learner’s voice is valued.
