2025 Higher Education Division National Award Lectures: Art Educator of the Year and Manuel Barkan

Join us for two inspiring award lectures. Pamela Harris Lawton, the 2025 NAEA National Higher Education Educator of the Year, is the Florence Gaskins Harper Endowed Chair at the Maryland Institute College of Art. She was enthusiastically recommended for her exceptional leadership, community-engaged curriculum, and mentorship in cultivating socially conscious educators. The 2026 Barkan Award Lecture will be delivered by Kevin Jenkins. This prestigious award recognizes an outstanding NAEA member who, through published work in Art Education or Studies in Art Education, has contributed scholarship of significant merit to the field of art education.
