Inspired by family scrapbooks, American folk traditions, and AfriCOBRA philosophies, she uses layered fabrics and quilting to create compositions with psychological depth. Her work is in the collections of the Art Institute of Chicago, the High Museum of Art, and the Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco, among others. Butler has exhibited internationally and received the inaugural Faith in the Arts Award in 2024. She lives and works in New Jersey. ### Please note, as with all NAEA sessions, seating for General Sessions is available on a first-come, first-served basis. While we hope to welcome as many attendees as possible into the Grand Ballroom, seating will be limited and there may be times when it reaches capacity, per fire safety codes.  To make sure everyone can fully share in the General Session experience from anywhere, NAEA has arranged live streaming of all three General Sessions for attendees:  - If you are staying at the Hyatt Regency Chicago, you may watch the live broadcast from the comfort of your guestroom at 9am CT.   - All attendees may also stream the sessions live through the NAEA26 Mobile App on a personal device.   See these instructions on the back of your NAEA26 badge.
