Micro–Video Games: Mobile Video Game Creation for the K–12 Art Classroom

Learn how to use inexpensive handheld gaming devices and Microsoft’s free MakeCode software to create micro-games, small-scale video games with retro-inspired graphics and gameplay, with K–12 students. Playdate, Meowbit, and Thumby micro-gaming devices will be available to play, and a brief demonstration of the MakeCode software will be presented.
