Rethink Pedagogy of Places: Critical Site-Specific Art Teaching and Learning in Higher Education

This panel explores critical site-specific pedagogy through four diverse pedagogical examples. Drawing on site specificity theory, we reconceptualize “place” as shaped by identity, self-awareness, content, and context. Attendees will engage in instructional strategies and extensive discussion to support reflective, justice-oriented, site-responsive art practices and curriculum development in art education.
