(TICKET REQUIRED) Artist Jeffrey Gibson: The Power of Color

Artist Jeffrey Gibson’s vibrant artwork offers a rich foundation for exploring color and Indigenous materials. A deep understanding of the power of color and use of powwow regalia is at the heart of all of Gibson’s work. Gibson is interested in the impact of color, including how colors communicate, impact feelings, and interact with each other when layered or put side by side. Gibson will lead participants through hands-on color exploration and square-stitch beading exercises. Educators from the K–12 Venice Biennale Educator Cohort (2024) will help facilitate this engaging session.
