Unlocking The Power of NCEES for BT Support

Session Description:Supporting Beginning Teachers (BTs) is essential for their professional growth, confidence, and long-term retention in the teaching profession. This interactive workshop will guide new HR directors, BT coordinators, and other district and school leaders on effectively leveraging the North Carolina Educator Evaluation System (NCEES) to provide both required oversight and meaningful professional development support for BTs.Participants will learn to use observation data, evaluation reports, and professional development planning tools within NCEES to monitor compliance, track progress, and design individualized growth opportunities. Emphasis will be placed on connecting evaluation results to targeted professional development modules and resources within NCEES, ensuring BTs receive support that is data-driven, personalized, and aligned with state standards. By mastering these processes, attendees will gain practical strategies to foster stronger feedback cycles, intentional coaching, and a sustainable pathway toward professional excellence for all beginning teachers.Target Audience:This session is designed for HR directors, Beginning Teacher coordinators, school administrators, and other district personnel who provide support for Beginning Teachers.Proposal Justification:This workshop addresses the critical need for structured professional development and ongoing support of Beginning Teachers, aligning with state and district priorities for educator effectiveness.
