Playing for Comprehension: Supporting Children’s Meaning Making in Storybook Apps

This session introduces the Story-Play Integration Model, a research-based framework that guides educators in intentionally selecting and using embedded games during interactive digital read-alouds to support children’s narrative comprehension. In this session, we will evaluate storybook apps and explore how to use them for meaningful narrative conversations with children.
