Increasing Opportunities for Oral Language in All Subjects

Oral language forms the foundation for literacy development and improves communication, collaboration, and respectful mutual understanding, and the link between oral language and academic success (including comprehending and applying content in complex grade-level text) is clear: Oral language skills are correlated with stronger reading comprehension and higher academic achievement. This session will provide teachers with a variety of instructional strategies they can use to strengthen oral literacy skills across subjects and grades.
