Grade Six Planning Session

This professional development session provides a dedicated working period for Grade 6 teachers across Southeastern Alberta to collaborate on curriculum planning and lesson design. Participants are encouraged to bring their own materials, including current lesson plans, resources, and technology, to actively work on developing engaging and effective learning experiences for their students. This session emphasizes collaboration, idea sharing, and practical planning, allowing teachers to leave with concrete strategies and resources ready for classroom implementation. In addition, teachers will have the opportunity to collaborate on Provincial Achievement Test (PAT) preparation, focusing on aligning instruction, assessment strategies, and classroom practices with curriculum outcomes. Through discussion and shared resource development, participants can explore ways to build student confidence and readiness for the PATs while maintaining meaningful, inquiry-based learning throughout the school year.
