Language-Rich Classrooms: Supporting Language Acquisition through Comprehensible Input and Vocabulary Development

In today’s diverse classrooms, teachers play a vital role in supporting multilingual learners as they acquire English as an additional language. This interactive session will deepen K–6 educators’ understanding of second language acquisition and the pivotal role of comprehensible input in language development. Participants will explore practical strategies to make language accessible, build academic vocabulary, and design classroom environments where all learners can thrive. Teachers will leave with strategies for instruction to support language growth across the curriculum.
