Elevating Leadership: Building Staff Success with Intention and Purpose

Thursday 22 January 2026·5:30 pm

What if we applied the same Developmentally Appropriate Practice (DAP) principles we use with children—respect for individuality, intentional support, and focus on growth—to the way we lead adults? This session invites early childhood directors and administrators to reimagine leadership through a DAP lens, exploring how to intentionally support and empower staff using reflective and strength-based approaches. Participants will examine how effective leadership includes understanding adult development, building meaningful relationships, and creating environments that promote professional growth. Through mini-lectures, collaborative discussions, and interactive activities, attendees will learn how to communicate clear expectations, give strength-based feedback, and lead with empathy and equity. This session is grounded in the belief that leadership is not about control but about connection. Directors will leave with practical strategies for recognizing the unique assets of their staff and designing systems that build staff success from the inside out. Whether you're a new leader or a seasoned administrator, this session offers fresh perspectives and actionable tools to build a more empowered, motivated, and cohesive team.
