Are We Ready to Talk About It?
This workshop seeks to push male health educators to increase their readiness to not only facilitate conversations regarding mental and sexual health, but to lead them. Utilizing experiential learning, teach backs, and reflection, participants will be able to practice teaching topics among peers to build comfort in using curriculum or creating home grown lessons. Students are seeking trusted adults to guide them to resources, and with suicide rates rapidly rising among young men (25-34), young people preparing for college and career are in need to acquire healthy life skills that they can take into adulthood. All participants are welcome, but the focus of this session will be to empower male educators to lead these discussions in their classrooms and communities.
